Grand Opening! The Bikesmart program has been in the planning stages since September 2011, and we are now ready to kick it off in a big way!
The Bikesmart Grand Opening will be held on Saturday, April 14th from 10am to 3pm. Our shop is located at 23 Mill Street West, Kingsville. We will be open to the public so they will have the opportunity to see how the program has progressed. Snacks and refreshments will be provided and volunteers will be available to answer any question you may have.
Bike Drive -Saturday, October 22, 2011----Essex Civic Centre, 360 Fairview Ave.
An initial Bikesmart bike drive event was held at the Essex Civic Center in October 2011. Our goal was to educate the public and collect bikes or equiptment to help support our program. The event received a lot of media and public support, and we spoke with many local citizens who were very pleased with the ideas and goals of this program and how it will benefit the community.
In the future we plan to have many more educational and interactive events to continue to spread the word about our program, but also to bring bikes directly to the people who need them most!
